Proteas squads for Sri lanka tour

The Proteas have announced their squad for the ODI and T20i series in Sri Lanka and there have a few interesting selections. The decision to leave Jannaman Malan, Andile Phehlukwayo and Kyle Verreynne out of the T20 squad is the biggest question. These are three very good players and they will have an opportunity to show their skill as they are part of the ODI squad but I feel they should have been in the T20 squad as well.

The Good news is Dwaine Pretorius is back and in both squads which is a good sign also Keshav Maharaj is in the T20 squad which is great opportunity for him if given a chance to show his skill in the shortest format of the game.

The T20 series in Sri Lanka is the last 3 games for Proteas as team before the T20 world cup and will want to get the final pieces to their squad together in this series.

SA20 review

The SA20 season 2 has ended with Sunrisers Eastern Cape successfully defending their title to win back-to-back titles. The Sunrisers were the team to beat as they played an excellent brand of cricket and dominated throughout the tournament winning 7 matches and losing 2 with 1 no result to top the table in the league stage. The final of SA20 season 2 was played by the 2 best teams of the tournament the Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Durban Super Giants. Proteas vs West Indies 1st test review

Protea's new era started off very well as they scored 314-8 on day 1 of the first test of this series. The day started with Proteas winning the toss and choosing to bat first. The Proteas got off to a great start as Elgar and Markram batted through too Lunch as they put together an opening Partnership of 99 in the morning session. The afternoon session was again dominated by Proteas as a further 107 added for the loss of 1 wicket. The wicket that fell during the afternoon session was that of Elgar for a well-played 71 off 118. Markram and the debutant De Zorzi then continued to bat untroubled as they put together a partnership of 78 off 127 before De Zorzi ran himself out and this triggered a collapse by Proteas as they lost 7 wickets in the last session of the day.
