Proteas vs India ODI series Preview

The Proteas are set to face India in a three-match ODI series, starting on December 17, 2023. The series will be played in Johannesburg, Gqeberha, and Paarl.

South Africa comes into the series with a relatively young team that is still finding its feet in international cricket. The likes of Tony de Zorzi, Kyle Verreynne, and Wiaan Mulder will be looking to make an impact in the series and cement their place in the team.

On the other hand, India also has a very young and inexperienced ODI squad, led by the likes of KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer. The Indian team will be looking to continue their dominance in the limited-overs format of the game after an excellent World Cup where they went unbeaten for 10 matches before falling short in the final.

The Proteas had a successful World Cup as well which saw their campaign end in the semifinals and they will also be looking to build on that as they look to build a team for the Champions Trophy 2025.

This is the first ODI for both teams since the World Cup and they will be looking to continue building their teams and depth for future ICC events.

Overall, the series promises to be an exciting clash between two competitive teams. It will be interesting to see how the young Proteas squad fares against the inexperienced Indian side.

The SA20 season 2 has ended with Sunrisers Eastern Cape successfully defending their title to win back-to-back titles. The Sunrisers were the team to beat as they played an excellent brand of cricket and dominated throughout the tournament winning 7 matches and losing 2 with 1 no result to top the table in the league stage. SA20 match 2nd match today is a repeat of yesterday's encounter at the Wanderers. The Pretoria Capitals vs the Joburg Super Kings at Supersport park Centurion tonight. The Capitals will be looking to put yesterday's defeat behind them and use their home conditions to get one back at the Super kings. The Super Kings will want to continue to build some momentum on yesterday's victory and beat their neighbours for a 2nd day straight.
