HBL PSL 7 Tournament review

 PSL 7 has come to a conclusion with the Lahore Qalandars winning their 1st PSL title.  The PSL 7 final took place yesterday between Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars who were 2 of the top teams who from the start looked like they would win the tournament.  Multan Sultans the most consistent team of the tournament only losing 2 matches out of the 12 they played were the outright favourites but they lost to the better team on the day of the final. Lahore were the only team who manage to beat Multan this season.  Qalandars were always in the title race but seemed to lose momentum at crucial stages of the tournament but them in the playoffs the experienced players stepped up when they were needed the most and put in match-winning performances to help Qalandars win their 1st PSL.  The PSL 7 tournament as a whole was very exciting to watch and also see the upcoming talent in Pakistan players like Karan Gulam, Ahsan Ali, Zaman Khan, Salman Irshad and Waaqas Maqsood.  The find of the tourna

CSA T20 Challenge 2022

The CSA T20 challenge has come to an end and Gebets Rocks have been crowned champions for the 1st time.  The tournament took place in Porth Elizabeth st Goerges park in a bio bubble. The tournament had a few nail-biting encounters and the fight to make the final 4 went down to the last day of the league phase. The top 4 teams were Titans, Western Cape, Dolphins, Rocks.  The tournament showcased the talent available for Proteas and also the depth of players and the future of South African cricket is bright. The tournament had experienced players mixed with young upcoming talent and the blend was fruitful as the results showed the players benefited from mixing with the experienced players.  There were a few standout players to name a few Tristan Stubbs who scored 293 at an average of 48.83  at a strike rate of 183.12,  Peter Malan at 363 at an average of 46 at a strike rate of 118.70 and Wihan Lubbe 231 at an average of 38.50 at a strike rate of 122.22 plus 4 wickets.  This tournament ha

Blackwidow T20 finals

This past Wednesday at the Imperial Wanderers stadium the final of the Blackwidow T20 Tournament took place. The first match was the women's final which was competed between Delfos Ladies vs Soweto Pioneer Ladies.  The Delfos Ladies won the toss and chose to bat and posted 130-4 in 20 overs their innings was built around star batter Modester Mupachikwa who scored 76 of 58 balls with 1 six and 10 fours. Jameelah Shaikjee contributed with a cameo 16 of 7 which included 3 boundaries.  The chase was delayed by rain and 9 overs were lost due to the rain staying around for over an hour. The Soweto Pioneers were set a revised target of 82 from 11 overs when they came out to chase and made a good start in pursuit of their target but once they lost the wicket of S.Kemp who scored 20 of 17 the rest of their batsman struggled to put up a fight against very good bowling performance from the Delfos Ladies team as they won the match by 20 runs on the Duckworth Lewis system and were crowned champ
