Proteas vs England 3rd test preview

The last test of the 3-match series between the Proteas and England starts tomorrow. The series is squared at 1-1 and sets this match up nicely as a result for either team would mean a series win and in the bigger picture a boost in the world test championship standings.

Rassie Van der Dussan and Jonny Bairstow have been ruled out of this test and world T20, both are crucial to their respective teams, and this will be a massive setback for Proteas and England as both are mainstays across the three formats of the game. The replacements for both players are just as suitable so hopefully, their absence won't be felt.

England have brought Harry Brook into the side for the final test in Bairstow's place as the only change from the previous test. England will want to continue from where they left off in the last test. They will hope their top order will contribute to putting runs on the board as they have struggled, especially the two openers who have struggled throughout the summer.

Proteas captain has confirmed that Ryan Rickelton will play tomorrow as he will replace Van der Dussan and the rest of the team is yet to be confirmed. I do see Proteas making two more changes in Jansen coming in place of Harmer and Mulder/Zondo in place of Markram. Proteas could be tempted to place an extra all-rounder in place of one of their bowlers due to their weak batting lineup and that is something that needs to be fixed as soon as possible.

I wish both teams the best of luck and hope to see so good cricket played and the best team over the next 5 days win.

Proteas vs India 2nd test Day 1 review

The second test match between Proteas and India kicked off on a high note with the hosts putting up a horrendous batting performance on day 1. The Proteas team won the toss and elected to bat first, but they failed to make the most of the opportunity as the Indian bowlers wreaked havoc on the home team's batting line-up bowling them out for 55. Mohammed Siraj was the chief destroyer with 6 wickets for 15 runs in 9 overs. He was equally supported by Mukesh and Bumrah both taking 2 wickets each.  The Indian team lost their first wicket early on, with Jaiswal departing for a duck. The rest of the top-order batsmen struggled to get going as well, and the team was bowled out for 153. However, a brilliant counter-attacking innings from Markram helped the home team to 62-3 at stumps to steady the ship.  It was an excellent day for bowlers on both sides as 23 wickets fell for 270 runs.  The Proteas bowlers, led by Rabada and Lungi Ngidi, were impressive after t...

Pakistan vs Australia 2nd test Day 1 review

Australia and Pakistan faced off in the second Test match at MSG. Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl first. The visitors started well with opening bowlers Shaheen Afridi and Mir Hamza getting the ball to move off the seam. However, the Australian batter struck back with a good opening partnership of 90 runs. Australia finished the day at 187/3 off 66 overs as rain played spoilsport, with Hasan Ali, Agha Salman and Aamer Jamal the pick of the bowlers. It was a tough day for the Pakistani bowlers as they struggled to cause Australian bowlers for long enough periods at a time, but they will look to bounce back on Day 2. The Australian batsman will be aiming to put up a big total for their bowlers to bowl too. Overall, it was an exciting day of Test cricket and fans can look forward to more action in the coming days.  Writer: Ebrahim Yusuf Omar
