Australia vs Pakistan 3rd test post-match review

Australia have completed a clean sweep of Pakistan in the three-match Test series, winning the third and final Test by 8 wickets at SCG Stadium.

Pakistan were bowled out for 313 in their first innings, with Mohammad Rizwan 88 and Aamer Jamal 8 Pakistani best contributors. But the Australian bowlers, led by Pat Cummins, held firm to restrict Pakistan's total.

In reply, Australia was bowled out for 299 with Mitchell Marsh and Marnus Labuschagne scoring half-centuries. Pakistan's second innings was even worse, with the visitors getting bowled out for just 115, leaving Australia needing just 130 runs for victory.

David Warner in his last test innings and Labuschagne scored half-centuries as Australia cruised to victory during the afternoon session on Day 4.

This was David Warner's final test and he went out with a bang as Australia whitewashed Pakistan for 7th time in a test series in Australia. Warner will leave Test cricket with a lot of memories as he continues to play T20 cricket for Australia. Warner has been one of the best openers in his ear across formats and fans will hope he continues to entertain in T20 cricket.

Pakistan's wait for a test victory in Australia extends to 29 years as once again a Pakistan squad has failed to be competitive on a test tour of Australia.

With this win, Australia have extended their unbeaten run in home Test matches against Pakistan to 17, and are now gearing up to host West Indies in 2 test matches.
