Sri Lanka beat Bangladesh by 5 wickets

In a thrilling match at Pallekele, Sri Lanka emerged victorious over Bangladesh by 5 wickets. The hosts won the toss and elected to field first, restricting Bangladesh to a total of 164 runs all out in 42.4 overs . In response, Sri Lanka chased down the target in 39 overs, thanks to a brilliant batting display from Charith  Asalanka, who scored 62 runs off 92 balls.

Asalanka's innings was peppered with 5 fours and 1 six, and he was ably supported by Sadeera Samarawickrama, who scored 54 runs off 77 balls. For Bangladesh, Shakib ul Hasan was the pick of the bowlers, picking up 2 wickets for 29 runs in his 10 overs.

In the second innings, Sri Lanka got off to a shaky start, with the opening pair of Karunaratne and Pathum Nissanka both getting out inside 3 overs. Despite a top-order collapse, Sri Lanka held their nerve and chased down the target comfortably with 11 overs to spare.

Overall, it was a great team effort by Sri Lanka, who showed their class with both bat and ball. Bangladesh, on the other hand, will have to go back to the drawing board and work on their game plan for the next match.
