IPL 2021 end of League phase

The end IPL league phase has come to an end with only 2 matches left before the playoffs. Delhi capitals and Royal challengers Bangalor are both already qualified for the playoffs the only question from this match is can RCB win by a big enough margin to beat CSK on net run rate to 2nd position. The 2nd match how ever is more interesting as Mumbai indians take on the Sunrisers Hydrabad and Mumbai need to win by a maring of 170 plus to beat KKR on net run rate and secure the last position in the playoffs. If MI bowl first then they have no chance of qualifying for the playoffs as it will be very tough for them to equal KKRs net run rate. So can mumbai pull off a miricale and qualify for the playoffs or is it too late. The most interesting thing is both matches will be going on at the same time similtancely. It will be interesting to see which match fans choose to watch as its going to be entertainment galore.  IPL has always been full of entertainment and the decision of who makes the

Proteas squads for Sri lanka tour

The Proteas have announced their squad for the ODI and T20i series in Sri Lanka and there have a few interesting selections. The decision to leave Jannaman Malan, Andile Phehlukwayo and Kyle Verreynne out of the T20 squad is the biggest question. These are three very good players and they will have an opportunity to show their skill as they are part of the ODI squad but I feel they should have been in the T20 squad as well. The Good news is Dwaine Pretorius is back and in both squads which is a good sign also Keshav Maharaj is in the T20 squad which is great opportunity for him if given a chance to show his skill in the shortest format of the game. The T20 series in Sri Lanka is the last 3 games for Proteas as team before the T20 world cup and will want to get the final pieces to their squad together in this series. All the best to the Proteas. Olympics 2021 Tokyo

The Olympics 2021 has got on the way and so far the most successful country has been china who have managed to get 40 medals. The medal table looks like this so far. h South Africa have so far won three medals at the Tokyo Olympics. 1 gold and 2 silver. Tajana Schoenmaker has won gold in women 200-meter breaststroke and sliver in the 100 meters breaststroke. Bianca Buitendag has won silver in the Women's shortboard.  The 2 silver Medals were won on 27th July and the Gold today 30th July. This is a good start for South Africa at the Olympics as within the first 7 days they have managed to win 3 medals. Yes, this is not so good compared to other countries.  The South Africans still have hope in the track and field event and Rugby 7s to earn more medals for the country. South Africa has made steady progress and most of its athletes will come into action in this coming week so hopefully, South Africa can start moving up the medal table.  this was my take on South Africa's perform

South Africa vs Ireland 1st ODI preview

South Africa vs Ireland in Dublin starts tomorrow with the first ODI. These ODIs will be important as they count for the world cup super league points and South Africans will want to get their campaign going as they look to kick start their path to qualify for the 2023 world cup.  South Africa will look also to get their combinations right as they continue to look to balance their white-ball teams. The biggest question will be can they fit in an all-rounder in the team to give themselves a sixth bowling option that will balance the side better. Ireland will want to reboot their bid to qualify for the 2023 world cup as they have played 9 matches and only got 20 points so far. These matches will be very crucial for them as defeat will leave them highly likely to fail to qualify directly for the world cup.  Ireland Probable XI: 1. Paul Sterling, 2. Jeremy Lawlor, 3. Andy Balbirnie, 4. Harry Tector, 5. Curtis Campher, 6. Lorcan Tucker, 7.Simi Singh, 8. Andy Mcbrine, 9 Barry McCarthy, 10.

South Africa vs West Indies final T20

South Africa vs West Indies last T20 will be played tonight and this will be the series decider with the series level 2-2. West Indies will want to continue the momentum they have gained from the previous game and close the series out. South Africa will want to address their batting problems in the middle and also find a way to fit in an all-rounder to balance the side better. Nortje fitness could be a question for this game after he got hit on the knee and this could be an opportunity for Lizard Williams. Williams could come in for Ngidi if Nortje is fit and Mulder or Phehlukwayo could also come in place of a batsman.  South Africa will also want to win this one so they will need to get their combination right if they are to do so. West Indies Probable XI: 1. Lendl Simmons, 2. Evin Lewis, 3. Chris Gayle, 4. Shimron Hetmyer, 5. Kieron Pollard, 6. Nicholas Pooran, 7. Andre Russel, 8. Dwayne Bravo, 9.Akeal Hosein, 10. Obed McCoy, 11. Fidel Edwards South Africa Probable XI: 1. Janman Ma
