Proteas vs England 1st Test Preview

The first test of the 3-match series between Proteas and England starts tomorrow. England will be the favourites to win with their new refreshed approach under McCullum and Stokes leadership. Proteas will be up for the challenge at the home of cricket.

England have announced their starting eleven today. They look set to continue with their winning combination from their previous four test wins.

Proteas will be happy that Rabada is fit and ready to go for the first test. This is a very important series for the Proteas as winning this series will help them most likely secure a spot in the final of the World Test Championship. Proteas have been doing very well in test cricket this year and are in good form in the longest format of the game.

The most interesting thing will be how the Proteas do against the dukes' ball compared to the kookaburra that they usually play with. Some Proteas players have been playing county cricket, which should have helped in getting used to playing against the duke's ball and adjusting to the conditions.

This is going to be a very exciting series as both teams are in good test form the only difference is Proteas played their last test 4 months ago and England 1 month ago.  It's going to be interesting to see which team gets the upper hand in the first session tomorrow. Both teams are done with their preparation, now it's time for the action.

England have already announced their playing eleven, so I will only predict Proteas playing eleven

Proteas: 1: Dean Elgar, 2: Sarel Erwee, 3: Keegan Petersen, 4: Aiden Markram, 5: Ryan Rickelton, 6: Kyle Verreynne, 7: Simon Harmer, 8: Marco Jansen, 9: Kagiso Rabada, 10: Anrich Nortje, 11: Lungi Ngidi

Proteas vs India 2nd test Day 1 review

The second test match between Proteas and India kicked off on a high note with the hosts putting up a horrendous batting performance on day 1. The Proteas team won the toss and elected to bat first, but they failed to make the most of the opportunity as the Indian bowlers wreaked havoc on the home team's batting line-up bowling them out for 55. Mohammed Siraj was the chief destroyer with 6 wickets for 15 runs in 9 overs. He was equally supported by Mukesh and Bumrah both taking 2 wickets each.  The Indian team lost their first wicket early on, with Jaiswal departing for a duck. The rest of the top-order batsmen struggled to get going as well, and the team was bowled out for 153. However, a brilliant counter-attacking innings from Markram helped the home team to 62-3 at stumps to steady the ship.  It was an excellent day for bowlers on both sides as 23 wickets fell for 270 runs.  The Proteas bowlers, led by Rabada and Lungi Ngidi, were impressive after t...

Pakistan vs Australia 2nd test Day 1 review

Australia and Pakistan faced off in the second Test match at MSG. Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl first. The visitors started well with opening bowlers Shaheen Afridi and Mir Hamza getting the ball to move off the seam. However, the Australian batter struck back with a good opening partnership of 90 runs. Australia finished the day at 187/3 off 66 overs as rain played spoilsport, with Hasan Ali, Agha Salman and Aamer Jamal the pick of the bowlers. It was a tough day for the Pakistani bowlers as they struggled to cause Australian bowlers for long enough periods at a time, but they will look to bounce back on Day 2. The Australian batsman will be aiming to put up a big total for their bowlers to bowl too. Overall, it was an exciting day of Test cricket and fans can look forward to more action in the coming days.  Writer: Ebrahim Yusuf Omar
