Proteas vs Bangladesh Preview

Tomorrow the Betway test series between Proteas and Bangladesh will start and both teams will be looking to start this series on a winning note.  Proteas will be looking to strengthen their position in the world test championship even though they are missing a few first-choice players they will still be confident they can utilise their home conditions and win the series.  Bangladesh on the other hand will be looking to back up their historic ODI series victory with a historic test series victory. They will be confident and also their self-belief will be high as they have been had a good 2022 so far.  Bangladesh will also be looking to kick start an unlikely bid to make the world championship final which will require them to win all 8 of their remaining test matches.  Proteas Predicted XI: 1 Dean Elgar, 2 Sarel Erwee, 3 Keegan Petersen, 4 Temba Bavuma, 5 Ryan Rickelton, 6 Kyle Verrynne, 7 Wiaan Mulder, 8 Simon Harmer, 9 Keshav Maharaj, 10 Lutho Sipamla, 11 Daran Dupav...

Pakistan vs Australia 2nd ODI preview

Tomorrow the 2nd ODI between Australia and Pakistan will take place at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Australia is leading the 3 match series 1-0.  Pakistan will be looking to bounce back and level the series making the 3rd and final match of the series a decider. Pakistan is also under pressure to win as they have slipped to 11 in the ODI super league and are looking like they will have to play the qualifier to make the world cup.  Australia on the other hand is well positioned on the ODI super league table. They have played the same amount of matches as Pakistan the only difference is they have won a majority of their matches and are sitting comfortably in the top 4 with 70 points.  These matches will be very important for both teams as they will want to gain points to establish themselves in a good position going forward.  My predicted eleven for tomorrow's game.  Pakistan predicted XI: 1 Imam ul Haq, 2 Fakhar Zaman, 3 Babar Azam, 4 Haider Ali, 5 Moham...

IPL 1st 5 matches Review

The IPL has got off to a great start with some great performances by players under pressure and some unknown talents making their IPL debut. The talent on show at this IPL has been great to see. The fearlessness of the young players and the way they are expressing themselves has been great to watch.   The youngsters have stepped up and put in performances and have increased the excitement around the IPL as it's going to be very exciting to see how they back up their starts to this season of IPL. Each team have a lot of exciting talent that they have recruited. The talent of both Indians and foreign players are in abundance at this year's IPL and it's just going to get more exciting as the tournament goes on.  It's early to predict anything right now and I think we should wait for at least 3 to 4 rounds to complete before deciding which teams will be on top and which will be at the bottom of the league. IPL is one of the most exciting leagues in the world and the ta...

World Test Championship Final Race

The race for WTC final race is getting interesting as 6 teams are still in with a chance while 3 are technically out of the race. The 6 teams with a chance are South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. With the number of test matches, each of the teams has left a winning percentage of around 70% will be the target to get in the top 2 and make the WTC final.  The scenarios for the teams in the race are as follows  South Africa  They have 10 tests remaining in this current cycle of WTC. They have to win 7 and draw 2 of their remaining matches to make sure they have a 70%+ winning percentage which will give them a shot at making the WTC final.  Australia  They have 11 test matches left in this cycle of WTC and from that, they have to win at least 7 matches and draw 1 to make sure their winning percentage is at 70% once they have completed all their matches in WTC.  India They have 7 test matches left. They have to win 6 and dra...

Bangladesh historic series win in South Africa

Bangladesh has created history by winning the first-ever series across any format in South Africa. Bangladesh played very well throughout the series and was deserved, winners as their experienced players stepped up and lead from the front to guide them to victory.  Bangladesh is a very strong ODI side and one day cricket is their strongest format. The team is improving as a test side. Their T20 cricket is a bit of a concern as that is the format they are struggling with the most. As an ODI side, they are very dangerous and I'm sure they will be one of the top sides from the subcontinent that will be favourite to make it to the semifinals at next year's world cup in India. I would like to congratulate the Bangladesh team on a historic series victory you were the better team in this series.  South Africa should take this as a wake-up call and look to rethink their approach to ODI cricket and also how they structure their team as they look to refresh and start an important...

IPL: Preview

We are a week away from IPL starting and all teams are set and preparing for the new season. 2 new teams have been added to the IPL and both teams have come in strong looking to make a statement at the auction table. The groups have been decided and each team know their path to the trophy. Who will be the team to lift the trophy this season. Let's take a look at the teams  Mumbai Indians  The Mumbai team's strength is their core players who they retained and Kishan who they bought back. They have made some interesting buys at the auction and have gone for a few unknown players but that's the speciality of Mumbai Indians they make Stars out of these unknown players. Their first choice team looks very strong providing they stay fit but again we might see plays like Anmolpreet and Brevis could be surprise packages for them. They are a team who could see their season got the wrong way if they suffer injuries to key players. This team is led by the current all format Indian ...

Pakistan Test cricket great escape

The series between Pakistan and Australia stands at 0-0 after the 2nd test ended in an entertaining draw. The Australians batted 1st in this 2nd test match and posted 556-9 declared and then bowled Pakistan out for 148.  Australia decided not to enforce the follow-on and batted again as they felt their bowlers will get tired in the heat as well as the wicket would deteriorate more and it would be difficult to bat last on. They batted out the remaining overs on day 3 last session and 8 overs on the morning of day 4 and then declared giving Pakistan a target of 506. With 5 and three-quarter sessions to play it looked like a tough task for Pakistan especially after they lost Imam ul Haq and Azhar Ali early in the chase. Then Captain Babar stepped up to the task and lead them to stumps also needing a 2-year wait for a test century. He was supported very well by the young Abdulla Shafiq who is at the start of his career. Babar continued to lead from the front on the last day even...

Pakistan vs Australia 2nd Test Preview

Tomorrow the 2nd test between Pakistan and Australia will begin at the National Stadium Karachi. Pakistan and Australia have both prepared and are ready. Australia have even revealed their starting eleven and Swepson will debut for Australia tomorrow. A leg spinner will play for Australia after a very long time and it will be interesting to see what the spin twin combo of Lyon and Swepson bring to the playing field on a Karachi pitch that is expected to offer more assistance for the spinners. Pakistan is also expected to make two changes to their starting eleven from the previous game. Hasan Ali and Faheem Ashraf are expected to come in place of Naseem Shah and Iftikar Ahmed. I would like to see Pakistan be a bit more attacking and play a leg spinner in Zahid Mahmood. Especially if a spin-friendly wicket is being prepared then Pakistan should play 3 spinners and go for the kill. I don't think they should play Faheem in this game. Pakistan Predicted XI: 1 Imam-ul-Haq 2 Abdulla Sha...

CSA 4 Day series Review

The CSA 4 day series has come to an end with Titans being crowned champions of division 1 and Northen Cape Heat champions of division 2. There have been some great performances through the season with both divisions going into the last round with 3 teams still having a chance to win the tournament.  Division 2 was most dominated by Northern Cape Heat for the first couple of rounds until the loss to South Western Districts in beating Northern Cape South Western Districts kept their hopes alive as well as the Tuskers going into the last round any of these 3 could have been crowned champions. It was the Northern Cape Heat who would come out on top after drawing the match while the Hollywoodbets Tuskers also settled for a draw and the South Western Districts lost their match. Here are some of the top performers from this season. Division 2 showed some promise with players showing some good potential for the future.  Division 1 came down to the last round with the Titans, Wa...

Pakistan vs Australia 1st test Review

The 1st test between Pakistan and Australia has ended in a draw. This match has been filled with criticism as the pitch has been labelled not good for test cricket. The way the match went it was not very entertaining or interesting. The approach from Pakistan during their 1st innings was very defensive as they struggled to up their run rate and move the pace of the match forward. Australia did try to make the match interesting by trying to score as fast as they could and ended up being bowled out and giving Pakistan a lead of 16 going into their 2nd innings. Pakistan could have been a bit better with the way they utilised their bowlers as I felt they could have bowled Nauman Ali more on day 3 as was their best bowler and was very impressed with his performance as he ended up taking 6 wickets.  Pakistan's 2nd innings was better than the 1st and if they could have played this way once they were set in the 1st innings they could have pushed for a result in this test. Pakistan c...

India vs Sri Lanka review

India has completed a dominant win against Sri Lanka by an innings and 222 runs. The star of the game was Jadeja with his 175 not out and 9 wickets. India was dominant from day  1 and they ended up winning the match in 2 and half days. The Indian batting order put in a decent performance with the bat in hand posting 574/8.  Sri Lanka was bowled out for 174 and 178.    It was all India throughout the test match as Sri Lanka struggled to put up a fight in this match. There were a few individual performances from Sri Lankan players Nissaka 61 in the 1st innings and Dickwella 51 in the 2nd innings but both never really got any support from anybody else to put together a partnership and apply pressure on India one end was always open and wickets just kept falling on regular basis.  The Sri Lankan team were always chasing the game and never looked like there would pose any threat to the Indian team at all this was a totally dominating performance from the India...

India vs Srilanka test match match preview

Tomorrow the test series between India and Sri Lanka will start and the 1st test will be a very momentous occasion for India as the former captain Virat Kohli plays his hundredth test match. This series is also the start of a new era in test cricket for India as Rohit Sharma will captain India in test cricket for the first time.  India will be looking to start off on a good note under the leadership of Rohit in test cricket and also they will hope Virat Kohli will return to form and make the celebration of his hundredth test even more enjoyable.  Sri Lanka will be looking to continue their good form in the test having beaten West Indies but they will know it won't be easy to beat India in India and also this Indian side that has been dominant for a while. I think both teams will go with their strengths considering the conditions will be familiar to both teams. India predicted XI: 1. Rohit Sharma(c), 2 Mayank Agarwal, 3. Shreyas Iyer, 4. Virat Kohli, 5. Hanuma Vihari, 6....

Pakistan vs Australia preview

Pakistan vs Australia historical test series will start in a few hours' time and both teams have prepared themselves and are ready to go. This is going to be a very interesting series and also a very important series for both considering world test championship points will be at stake.  Australia will look to start off well as this is the 1st of 3 subcontinental tours in this cycle of the world test championship and for Pakistan, this is the 1st of 3 big test series they will play at home this year.  The 1st test will take place at the Rawalpindi stadium. It will be interesting to see what starting xi both teams put out on the field for this game. what I have seen of the pitch in Pindi I think it's going to suit the seamers and Pakistan will go with 3 seamers, spinner and all-rounder( could be a spinning all-rounder)  and Australia will go with their tried and tested combination of 3 seamers and a spinner with the all-rounder( seam all-rounder).  Pakista...

PROTEAS tour New Zealand 2022 Test Series

The test series between New Zealand and the Proteas has ended in a 1-1 draw and left both teams well placed in the world test championship. Proteas have a 60% win percentage after 5 tests and New Zealand 46.66% win percentage after 6 tests.  Proteas made a good comeback in the 2nd test after a very disappointing performance in the 1st test. They were caught off guard against the moving ball in the 1st test and failed to make the right adjustments to tackle the conditions to put up a fight with the bat in hand. With the ball, their bowlers struggled and Rabada, Jansen were left with all the work to do as Stuurman and Oliver failed to provide good support. Proteas made the needed adjustments and come back with an excellent performance in the 2nd test as they levelled the series 1-1 to keep their proud record of never losing a test series to New Zealand still in tacked.  There were opportunities provided to players on both sides as key players were missing and also retirem...
