Pakistan vs Australia 1st test Review

The 1st test between Pakistan and Australia has ended in a draw. This match has been filled with criticism as the pitch has been labelled not good for test cricket. The way the match went it was not very entertaining or interesting. The approach from Pakistan during their 1st innings was very defensive as they struggled to up their run rate and move the pace of the match forward.

Australia did try to make the match interesting by trying to score as fast as they could and ended up being bowled out and giving Pakistan a lead of 16 going into their 2nd innings. Pakistan could have been a bit better with the way they utilised their bowlers as I felt they could have bowled Nauman Ali more on day 3 as was their best bowler and was very impressed with his performance as he ended up taking 6 wickets.

Pakistan's 2nd innings was better than the 1st and if they could have played this way once they were set in the 1st innings they could have pushed for a result in this test. Pakistan can take confidence from the fact that their top 3 scored some big runs in this test. They would also be happy that a few key players will be available for the rest of the series which will help especially to strengthen Pakistan's bowling attack.

Australia can take confidence that their top 4 batsmen had a decent outing with the bat but they would want their bowlers to improve if they are to be competitive in the next 2 tests.

I felt a better pitch could have been prepared for this test and hope to see good competitive test cricket on some good pitches for the rest of this series.

Here is the match summary

Proteas vs India ODI series Preview

The Proteas are set to face India in a three-match ODI series, starting on December 17, 2023. The series will be played in Johannesburg, Gqeberha, and Paarl. South Africa comes into the series with a relatively young team that is still finding its feet in international cricket. The likes of Tony de Zorzi, Kyle Verreynne, and Wiaan Mulder will be looking to make an impact in the series and cement their place in the team. On the other hand, India also has a very young and inexperienced ODI squad, led by the likes of KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer.
