PROTEAS tour New Zealand 2022 Test Series

The test series between New Zealand and the Proteas has ended in a 1-1 draw and left both teams well placed in the world test championship. Proteas have a 60% win percentage after 5 tests and New Zealand 46.66% win percentage after 6 tests.

Proteas made a good comeback in the 2nd test after a very disappointing performance in the 1st test. They were caught off guard against the moving ball in the 1st test and failed to make the right adjustments to tackle the conditions to put up a fight with the bat in hand. With the ball, their bowlers struggled and Rabada, Jansen were left with all the work to do as Stuurman and Oliver failed to provide good support.

Proteas made the needed adjustments and come back with an excellent performance in the 2nd test as they levelled the series 1-1 to keep their proud record of never losing a test series to New Zealand still in tacked.

There were opportunities provided to players on both sides as key players were missing and also retirements of key players. Kyle Verreynne and Sarel Erwee for Proteas and Matt Henry, Daryl Mitchell and De Grandhomme for New Zealand. These are players who are yet to establish themselves in their respective test sides. They took their opportunities and sent a statement that they can be relied on to perform and win matches for their teams.

The series as a whole was very interesting to watch as New Zealand from dominating the 1st test went to struggling in the 2nd test as these 2 cricketing Giants put up a spectacle for fans to watch.

Hope to see some more good test cricket in the days to come as some very interesting series get started and the world test championship intensifies.

Below I'm attaching the match summary of both matches and the world test championship standings

Proteas vs India 2nd test Day 1 review

The second test match between Proteas and India kicked off on a high note with the hosts putting up a horrendous batting performance on day 1. The Proteas team won the toss and elected to bat first, but they failed to make the most of the opportunity as the Indian bowlers wreaked havoc on the home team's batting line-up bowling them out for 55. Mohammed Siraj was the chief destroyer with 6 wickets for 15 runs in 9 overs. He was equally supported by Mukesh and Bumrah both taking 2 wickets each.  The Indian team lost their first wicket early on, with Jaiswal departing for a duck. The rest of the top-order batsmen struggled to get going as well, and the team was bowled out for 153. However, a brilliant counter-attacking innings from Markram helped the home team to 62-3 at stumps to steady the ship.  It was an excellent day for bowlers on both sides as 23 wickets fell for 270 runs.  The Proteas bowlers, led by Rabada and Lungi Ngidi, were impressive after t...

Pakistan vs Australia 2nd test Day 1 review

Australia and Pakistan faced off in the second Test match at MSG. Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl first. The visitors started well with opening bowlers Shaheen Afridi and Mir Hamza getting the ball to move off the seam. However, the Australian batter struck back with a good opening partnership of 90 runs. Australia finished the day at 187/3 off 66 overs as rain played spoilsport, with Hasan Ali, Agha Salman and Aamer Jamal the pick of the bowlers. It was a tough day for the Pakistani bowlers as they struggled to cause Australian bowlers for long enough periods at a time, but they will look to bounce back on Day 2. The Australian batsman will be aiming to put up a big total for their bowlers to bowl too. Overall, it was an exciting day of Test cricket and fans can look forward to more action in the coming days.  Writer: Ebrahim Yusuf Omar
