Proteas Spin Twins Demolish Bangla Tigers once again

Proteas have won the 2nd and final test against Bangladesh by 332 runs. The Proteas spin twins were once again the chief destroyers of the Bangaladesh batting order as they combined to take 15 of the 20 wickets to fall in this match. They took a combined 29 wickets in the series which is unheard of on SA soil that 2 spinners would dominate the series for the home team.

Maharaj and Harmer provide two world-class spinners for SA to utilise and they proved to be too good for the Bangladesh batters to deal with throughout the series. Both a proven match-winners in their own ways and in conditions that proved to be spin-friendly in this series they lead the way with the ball in hand and bowled the Proteas to victory.

Maharaj and Harmer were also very handy with the bat in hand as they contributed some useful runs in the series.  They are no mugs with the bat in hand and can be classified as bowling all-rounders which just benefits SA cricket going forward.

This Successful series victory against Bangladesh has just improved Protrea's hold on to the 2nd position in the WTC as they now have a winning percentage of  71.42. With the venue for the WTC final still not decided by ICC it's important for every team to make sure they cover all bases and are ready for whatever conditions is put in front of them. The current front runner to host the WTC final is Dubai International Stadium.

So for SA, the spin twins could play an important role if they are to make the final. With their first choice players returning from the IPL in the next series this just increases the strength of the Proteas team and also makes them a more dangerous side to deal with.

Protea's next test series will be in England in August. Their next series is a 5 match T20 series in India.

Here is the match summary and WTC Standings
