HBL PSL 7 Tournament review

PSL 7 has come to a conclusion with the Lahore Qalandars winning their 1st PSL title.  The PSL 7 final took place yesterday between Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars who were 2 of the top teams who from the start looked like they would win the tournament.  Multan Sultans the most consistent team of the tournament only losing 2 matches out of the 12 they played were the outright favourites but they lost to the better team on the day of the final. Lahore were the only team who manage to beat Multan this season.  Qalandars were always in the title race but seemed to lose momentum at crucial stages of the tournament but them in the playoffs the experienced players stepped up when they were needed the most and put in match-winning performances to help Qalandars win their 1st PSL.  The PSL 7 tournament as a whole was very exciting to watch and also see the upcoming talent in Pakistan players like Karan Gulam, Ahsan Ali, Zaman Khan, Salman Irshad and Waaqas Maqsood....

The first match was the women's final which was competed between Delfos Ladies vs Soweto Pioneer Ladies.  The Delfos Ladies won the toss and chose to bat and posted 130-4 in 20 overs their innings was built around star batter Modester Mupachikwa who scored 76 of 58 balls with 1 six and 10 fours. The Soweto Pioneers were set a revised target of 82 from 11 overs when they came out to chase and made a good start in pursuit of their target but once they lost the wicket of S.Kemp who scored 20 of 17 the rest of their batsman struggled to put up a fight against very good bowling performance from the Delfos Ladies team as they won the match by 20 runs on the Duckworth Lewis system and were crowned ...

IPL 2021 end of League phase

The end IPL league phase has come to an end with only 2 matches left before the playoffs. Delhi capitals and Royal challengers Bangalor are both already qualified for the playoffs the only question from this match is can RCB win by a big enough margin to beat CSK on net run rate to 2nd position. The 2nd match how ever is more interesting as Mumbai indians take on the Sunrisers Hydrabad and Mumbai need to win by a maring of 170 plus to beat KKR on net run rate and secure the last position in the playoffs. If MI bowl first then they have no chance of qualifying for the playoffs as it will be very tough for them to equal KKRs net run rate. So can mumbai pull off a miricale and qualify for the playoffs or is it too late. The most interesting thing is both matches will be going on at the same time similtancely. It will be interesting to see which match fans choose to watch as its going to be entertainment galore.  IPL has always been full of entertainment and the decision of who ...

Proteas squads for Sri lanka tour

The Proteas have announced their squad for the ODI and T20i series in Sri Lanka and there have a few interesting selections. The decision to leave Jannaman Malan, Andile Phehlukwayo and Kyle Verreynne out of the T20 squad is the biggest question. These are three very good players and they will have an opportunity to show their skill as they are part of the ODI squad but I feel they should have been in the T20 squad as well. The Good news is Dwaine Pretorius is back and in both squads which is a good sign also Keshav Maharaj is in the T20 squad which is great opportunity for him if given a chance to show his skill in the shortest format of the game. The T20 series in Sri Lanka is the last 3 games for Proteas as team before the T20 world cup and will want to get the final pieces to their squad together in this series. All the best to the Proteas.   The Olympics 2021 has got on the way and so far the most successful country has been china who have managed to get 40 medals. The medal table looks like this so far. h South Africa have so far won three medals at the Tokyo Olympics. 1 gold and 2 silver. Tajana Schoenmaker has won gold in women 200-meter breaststroke and sliver in the 100 meters breaststroke. Bianca Buitendag has won silver in the Women's shortboard.  The 2 silver Medals were won on 27th July and the Gold today 30th July. This is a good start for South Africa at the Olympics as within the first 7 days they have managed to win 3 medals. Yes, this is not so good compared to other countries.  The South Africans still have hope in the track and field event and Rugby 7s to earn more medals for the country. South Africa has made steady progress and most of its athletes will come into action in this coming week so hopefully, South Africa can start moving up the medal table.  this was my take on South Afric...
