India vs Sri Lanka review

India has completed a dominant win against Sri Lanka by an innings and 222 runs. The star of the game was Jadeja with his 175 not out and 9 wickets. India was dominant from day  1 and they ended up winning the match in 2 and half days. The Indian batting order put in a decent performance with the bat in hand posting 574/8.  Sri Lanka was bowled out for 174 and 178.   

It was all India throughout the test match as Sri Lanka struggled to put up a fight in this match. There were a few individual performances from Sri Lankan players Nissaka 61 in the 1st innings and Dickwella 51 in the 2nd innings but both never really got any support from anybody else to put together a partnership and apply pressure on India one end was always open and wickets just kept falling on regular basis. 

The Sri Lankan team were always chasing the game and never looked like there would pose any threat to the Indian team at all this was a totally dominating performance from the Indian side to start their new era under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma in tests. 

Well done to the Indian team and also congratulations to Ashwin on going past Kapil Dev on the all-time wicket-takers list. Good Luck to both for the next game which is a day-night encounter in Bangalore which starts on Saturday.

SA20 review

 The SA20 season 2 has ended with Sunrisers Eastern Cape successfully defending their title to win back-to-back titles. The Sunrisers were the team to beat as they played an excellent brand of cricket and dominated throughout the tournament winning 7 matches and losing 2 with 1 no result to top the table in the league stage.  The final of SA20 season 2 was played by the 2 best teams of the tournament the Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Durban Super Giants. Sunrisers proved too good for Super Giants beating them by 89 runs to not only successfully defend their SA20 title but also win the head-to-head between the 2 teams 3-1.  SA20 season 2 saw some unbelievable performances with quite a few young South African players taking the opportunity and shining. Australia vs Pakistan 3rd test Day 1 review

  The third test match between Australia and Pakistan kicked off today at the SCG Sydney. Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first. However, their decision did not go well as the Australian bowlers dominated the Pakistani batsmen from the very beginning. Pakistan lost their openers, Abdulla Shafiq and Saim Ayub early in the innings and were struggling to recover from there. Babar Azam and Shan Masood tried to stabilize the innings, but the Australian bowlers kept on taking wickets at regular intervals. Mohammed Rizwan, Agha Salaman and Aamer Jamal played some excellent innings in the lower middle order to rescue Pakistan  At the end of the day, Pakistan were bowled out for 313 runs.
