Australia thrash SA by 111 runs

Australia produced an exceptional performance to beat South Africa by a massive 111 runs in the first T20 match of the series. It was a commanding display from the Aussies, who dominated with both bat and ball. The victory will give them a lot of confidence going into the next game. South Africa will need to regroup quickly if they are to mount a comeback in the series. Overall, it was a thoroughly deserved win for Australia, who will be looking to maintain their momentum in the coming matches.

Mitchell Marsh and Tim David did the damage with the bat as both scored half-centuries as the insured Australia posted a massive 226-6 in 20 overs. Marsh scored 92 not out and David 64. With the ball, Debutant Tanveer Sanga ripped through the Proteas middle order to finish with 4-31 and lead Australia to a massive 111-run win.

The Proteas bowled poorly as they couldn't sustain enough pressure and allowed the Australians to get away with the bat in hand. None of the bowlers managed to keep the scoring in check as all went at 10 or more per over. The batting was a total failure as they failed to get any partnerships going as wickets just fell regularly, Reeza Hendricks was the only shining light with his 56.

The Proteas will be hoping they can regroup and bounce back on Friday with a better performance. While the Aussies will look to continue the excellent work and win the series.

Good Luck to both for the 2nd T20 on Friday
