Pakistan ruthless pace attack trash Afghanistan in first ODI

Pakistan beat Afghanistan in the first ODI by 142 runs. The stars for Pakistan were their ruthless pace trio of Shaheen, Naseem, and Haris Rauf. The trio put up an excellent show utilizing their pace and bounce as they ripped apart the Afghanistan batting order.  Shaheen started the innings with an excellent spell of 4 overs 2 maidens 2-9. Shaheen bowled with pace, bounce, and accuracy and he got the ball to move through the air and off the pitch superbly. The Afghanistan batsman had no answers to what Shaheen dished out at them. Proteas suprising Preliminary World cup squad

The Proteas have announced their preliminary World cup squad and there are some interesting selections made by the selectors as Proteas only have one series left before the World cup. The Proteas 19 men squad looks strong and balanced, but the biggest question is will that remain the same when the squad is cut down to fifteen. The captain for Proteas is Bavuma who is a very calm and cool leader. He has adjusted to the leadership role very well and has the respect of his teammates. The team under his leadership is a very well-gelled unit.  The vice-captain of the team is Markram who has been seen as a leader from age group cricket. He and Bavuma have a great relationship and they work very well together bouncing ideas off each other. Makram as Bavuma deputy makes the perfect pair to lead the Proteas in the World cup.  The key players for Proteas in this World cup will be Klaasen, Miller, Van der Dussen in the batting and Maharaj, Shamsi, Rabada and Nortje in the bowling department. Proteas vs West indies ODI series preview

The Betway ODI series between SA and West Indies gets underway with the first ODI in East London on Thursday. This series will form part of both teams' preparation for the World cup later this year although both teams still need to qualify for the World cup.  The West Indies depend on New Zealand, Netherlands, and Bangladesh to win their remaining matches so that they can seal the last direct qualification spot, which is looking unlikely. The Proteas control their own faith as they still have 2 matches left against the Netherlands and if they win those 2 matches comfortably, they should be able to seal the last qualification spot providing New Zealand and Bangladesh win one match in their series against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.  This ODI series will provide some much need confidence to whoever wins and should allow them to build going forward as they look to find the right combinations for the world cup. The Proteas will be experimenting with their team for the first 2 ODIs as th
