IPL downfall leaves T20 World cup Venue up in the air

IPL being postponed indefinitely has left a big question for all cricket lovers across the world.

Can India host the World T20 after failing to successfully host Ipl 2021 in a biosecure environment?

As things stand the answer is heading towards a no they can not. Does this mean we will see the T20 world cup being held in the UAE or will ICC look for an alternative venue to host this year's T20 world cup?

BCCI has said they are looking at the September window to complete the rest of the IPL but no Venue has been spoken of as of now. Is the IPL also heading to the UAE considering the situation in India?

ICC and BCCI have 5 months, to sum up, the situation and make a decision considering what's best for cricket and also the health and safety of players and staff, and officials involved in the IPL and World T20.

We are going to have to find a way to work with covid19 co-existing with cricket because this is the reality that we have to accept moving forward as sports lovers.

ICC is going to have to find a way to make sure that the calendar commitments set out for this cycle are fulfilled.

If this is not possible then they have to look at alternative solutions especially the T20 world cup considering ICC has scheduled another T20 world cup that is to be hosted in Australia in 2022.

Is there a possibility that ICC decides to switch the T20 world cup host thus Australia hosts the event this year considering they have things under control when it comes to concern of the spread of covid19? The Ashes which is to be hosted in Australia later this year at this moment is the only cricketing event that can be guaranteed to go ahead as scheduled in the international calendar as well as the English international cricket summer program as these two countries have things under control as things stand for now.

India which is at the moment the worst hit by covid19 can be given time to get things under control and host the T20 world cup in 2022 instead of this year.

Switching host seems to be the best option at the moment but it might not be that easy considering that Australia will have to speed up preparation to host an event that the whole world will be watching on short notice.

Considering Australia who was supposed to host the T20 world cup last year was initially asking ICC if they could host it this year but due to BCCI refusing to host the T20 world cup in 2022 considering it would mean they would have to host two back to back ICC events. The ICC World T20 2022 and ICC ODI world cup 2023. It was decided India would host the T20 world cup this year and Australia next year.

All we can do is hope that the situation in India gets under control and we can get a clear view of whether India can host the T20 world cup this year.

ICC plans to have a meeting in July and from that, we should get a conclusive decision as to where the T20 world cup will be hosted this year.

Proteas vs India 2nd test Day 1 review

The second test match between Proteas and India kicked off on a high note with the hosts putting up a horrendous batting performance on day 1. The Proteas team won the toss and elected to bat first, but they failed to make the most of the opportunity as the Indian bowlers wreaked havoc on the home team's batting line-up bowling them out for 55. Pakistan vs Australia 2nd test Day 1 review

Australia and Pakistan faced off in the second Test match at MSG. Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl first. The visitors started well with opening bowlers Shaheen Afridi and Mir Hamza getting the ball to move off the seam. However, the Australian batter struck back with a good opening partnership of 90 runs. Australia finished the day at 187/3 off 66 overs as rain played spoilsport, with Hasan Ali, Agha Salman and Aamer Jamal the pick of the bowlers. It was a tough day for the Pakistani bowlers as they struggled to cause Australian bowlers for long enough periods at a time, but they will look to bounce back on Day 2.
