Top four settled, Leicester miss out

The English Premier League came to an end over the weekend and also we got to know who the final four were as Liverpool and Chelsea joined Man City and Man United to complete the top 4 for the 2020/21 season.

Coming into the final day City and United were confirmed top 2 with 3rd and 4th still up for grabs. Leicester was the team with all the work to do if they were to secure one of the 2 remaining spots as they were in 5th spot going into finals day also they were the worst when comparing the goal difference of the three teams competing for the 2 spots.

Leicester failed to beat Tottenham as they lost 4-2 and Chelsea lost as well to Aston Villa 2-1 thus Chelsea finished in fourth on 67 points 1 point ahead of Leicester. The surprise of the lot was Liverpool finishing in third as they capped off a 10 match winning streak to finish the season on a high.

Liverpool who was looking like they might just make it to the Europa League went on to win their last 10 games of the campaign to pull off a comeback and finish in 3rd position thus securing their place in the champions league for next season also giving Jurgen Klopp and his men some much-needed confidence heading into next season after they had a tough season the was ploughed by injuries to key players.

The finish to the season premier league was exciting and also the race for the top 4 going down to the wire made it an even more interesting finals day as things kept on changing every time one of the three teams either scored or conceded a goal. In the end, it was Liverpool and Chelsea who managed to secure the births for next season champions league and Leicester having to settle for a place in the Europa League next season.

This was a fun season as well as challenging considering what's going on at the moment in the world.

until next season hope you are all safe and at home and following SOPs

Do share what were your thoughts on finals day in the comments.
