Proteas tour West Indies

The Proteas are going to tour the West Indies for the first time in 11 years. The Proteas will play three T20s and 2 Tests against the West Indies in Grenada and St Lucia. The 3 T20s will be played in Grenada and the 2 tests will be played in St Lucia.

The Biggest Question is how will the Proteas squad look for these 2 series as Graeme Smith the director of Cricket South Africa said that we could see the return of Ad De Villiers, Chris Morris, and Imran Tahir.

My question is are the selectors and Graeme Smith has a few more surprises in selecting the squads for these 2 series. Especially with the Kolpak players now available for selection. I know with the Quotas rules, not all will be selected but a few being brought back could strengthen the Proteas team and also put them back to winning ways.

So these are how I expect the squad to look when announced

Test Squad.

Dean Elgar(captain) Temba Bavuma(vice Captain) Quinton De Kock(wk) Russie van De Dussen, Kyle Verreynne (wk), KG Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Lungi Ngidi, Adrien Markham, Wiaan Mulder, Keshav Maharaj, Tabraiz Shamsi, Lutho Sipmla, Andile Phehlukwayo, Darn Dupavillion, Keegan Pieterson, Sarel Erwee, Dwaine Pretorius, Simon Harmer, Kyle Abbott, Goerge Linde, Pieter Malan, Zubayr Hamza, Raynaard van Tonder, Migael Pretorius

T20 Squad

Temba Bavuma (captain) Arien Markham,Quinton De Kock, Faf Du Plessis,Ab de Villiers, Russie van DE Dussen , David Miller , KG Rabada , Lungi Ngidi, Anrich Nortje, Andile Phehlukwayo,Janneman Malan, Keshav Maharaj, Tabraiz Shamsi, Imran Tahir,Bjorn Fortuin,Goerge Linde,Chris Morris,Sisanda Magala, Gleton Sturrman, Lizaard Williams, Jon-Jon- Smuts, Van Biljon,Lutho Sipamla,Dwaine Pretoruis, Wiaan Mulder, Reeza Hendricks, Henrich Klassen(wk), Kyle Verreynne(wk), Ryan Rickelton(wk)

The squad is big but with covid19 we can expect extended squads and a few standby players to be announced so that's why I have gone with a large squad.

Do share your opinions in the comments and what you think of the Proteas chances in the West Indies.

SA20 review

The SA20 season 2 has ended with Sunrisers Eastern Cape successfully defending their title to win back-to-back titles. The Sunrisers were the team to beat as they played an excellent brand of cricket and dominated throughout the tournament winning 7 matches and losing 2 with 1 no result to top the table in the league stage.  The final of SA20 season 2 was played by the 2 best teams of the tournament the Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Durban Super Giants. Sunrisers proved too good for Super Giants beating them by 89 runs to not only successfully defend their SA20 title but also win the head-to-head between the 2 teams 3-1.  SA20 season 2 saw some unbelievable performances with quite a few young South African players taking the opportunity and shining. The young standout SA batsman were:  Rickelton 530 runs ave 58.88, strike-rate 173.77 Breetzke 416 runs ave 32, strike-rate 135.50  Stubbs 301 runs ave 60.20, strike-rate, 168.15   Mulder 297 runs...

Australia vs Pakistan 3rd test day 3 review

The third day of the third Test match between Australia and Pakistan was exciting, with both teams battling it out on the field. Australia resumed on 116-2 with Labuschange and Smith continuing to score steadily and take Australia closer to Pakistan's first innings score of 313. Labuschange and Smith added 71 runs before both Smith and Labuschange lost their wickets one after the other. Australia then managed a few small partnerships to take their score to 289 before collapsing to 299 all out giving Pakistan a first-innings lead of 14 runs.  Pakistan began their 2nd innings in the worst way possible by losing 2 quick wickets in opener Abdulla Shafiq and Captain Shan Masood both for ducks. Saim Ayub and Babar Azam then gave Pakistan some hope with a partnership of 57 before Pakistan's batting collapsed from 58-2 to 68-7 to end the day staring at defeat and missing another chance to win their 1st test in 28 years. Pakistan last won a test match in Australia in 1995...
