The World Test Championship 2019-21 comes to and end

This week Friday the World Test Championships last 2 test matches for the 2019-21 cycle will be played. The final between New Zealand and India and West Indies vs South Africa 2nd test which is the last test match of an official series for the world test championship.

The New Zealand and India match will give us the inaugural winner of the world test championship as the two teams will battle it out in Southampton to crown the best team of the greats format in cricket history.

South Africa vs West Indies test match also has high stakes as if South Africa win the second test match they will finish off in 5th position by having a stronger winning percentage as Pakistan who are currently in 5th have a winning percentage of 43.3% and South Africa will have a winning percentage of 44 if they win the second test match.

If West Indies win the second test match then they will finish in 6th and South Africa will drop to 7th. If the match ends in a draw South Africa will finish in 6th and West Indies in 7th.

SA20 review

The SA20 season 2 has ended with Sunrisers Eastern Cape successfully defending their title to win back-to-back titles. The Sunrisers were the team to beat as they played an excellent brand of cricket and dominated throughout the tournament winning 7 matches and losing 2 with 1 no result to top the table in the league stage. The final of SA20 season 2 was played by the 2 best teams of the tournament the Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Durban Super Giants. Sunrisers proved too good for Super Giants beating them by 89 runs to not only successfully defend their SA20 title but also win the head-to-head between the 2 teams 3-1. Proteas vs England 3rd ODI

The ODI series between Proteas and England ended with a 2-1 win for the Proteas. The series has been competitive and entertaining. Proteas won the toss and chose to bowl. They started off well but then Buttler and Malan put together a partnership of 232 off 211. This partnership brought England right back into the match as they recovered from 14 for 3 to post 346-7 in their 50 overs. In reply, the Proteas were always ahead of the scoring rate, the only problem was they lost wickets at regular intervals, which is why they ended up being bowled out for 287. Archer was the star picking up 6-40 of 9.1 overs. England won the match by 59 runs.
