Upcoming cricket matches this week

The first test has come to an end with it ending in a draw. New Zealand gave it their best shot but the England batsman managed to keep them out and play out a draw.

The game did get a little boring during the last session as England were just blocking everything as they were playing for the draw. They never looked like they were going to attempt to win the game at any stage of their innings. New Zealand on the other hand tried their best to get the match to end with a result but the England batsman was just better in executing their plans and batting out the 70 odd overs they were given to survive to get the draw.

The match was a good one and if the third day was not lost to rain New Zealand were looking good to win this one and who knows we might have seen a result in the favour of England. As we all know a test keeps changing session by session and from day to day with the conditions varying depending on the weather forecast.

Looking forward to this week the 2nd test gets on the way on Thursday and there is a chance that New Zealand will bring in Trent Boult and Ajaz Patel for Tim Southee and Mitchell Santner and on the England side we could see Dom Dess or Jack Leach replace the unavailable Ollie Robinson who has been banned from all international cricket until the ECB is done with there investigation and announce their decision.

Moving on to other news

This week Thursday we also have the Fist test Between West Indies and South Africa starting and this will be an interesting series as it is the last series of the world test championship. With WTC points up for grabs both teams will be looking to give it their best to make sure they can earn those points and give their respective sides a reasonable finish in the WTC.

Both teams stand a chance of finishing fifth in WTC if they can win the series 2-0 so there is a lot on the line in this series and I'm sure it's going to be an exciting one.

West Indies will be looking to get a result at home in a test for the first time this year after the two tests they played this year against Srilanka both ended in a draw.

South Africa will be looking to return to winning ways having lost their last two tests to Pakistan earlier this year.

There is a lot of cricket happening this week and it's going to be very exciting with the teams all having different motives to play for

What are your thoughts on the two matches happening this week do share in the comment section

Proteas vs India 2nd test Day 1 review

The second test match between Proteas and India kicked off on a high note with the hosts putting up a horrendous batting performance on day 1. The Proteas team won the toss and elected to bat first, but they failed to make the most of the opportunity as the Indian bowlers wreaked havoc on the home team's batting line-up bowling them out for 55. Mohammed Siraj was the chief destroyer with 6 wickets for 15 runs in 9 overs. He was equally supported by Mukesh and Bumrah both taking 2 wickets each.  The Indian team lost their first wicket early on, with Jaiswal departing for a duck. The rest of the top-order batsmen struggled to get going as well, and the team was bowled out for 153. However, a brilliant counter-attacking innings from Markram helped the home team to 62-3 at stumps to steady the ship.  It was an excellent day for bowlers on both sides as 23 wickets fell for 270 runs.  The Proteas bowlers, led by Rabada and Lungi Ngidi, were impressive after t...

Pakistan vs Australia 2nd test Day 1 review

Australia and Pakistan faced off in the second Test match at MSG. Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl first. The visitors started well with opening bowlers Shaheen Afridi and Mir Hamza getting the ball to move off the seam. However, the Australian batter struck back with a good opening partnership of 90 runs. Australia finished the day at 187/3 off 66 overs as rain played spoilsport, with Hasan Ali, Agha Salman and Aamer Jamal the pick of the bowlers. It was a tough day for the Pakistani bowlers as they struggled to cause Australian bowlers for long enough periods at a time, but they will look to bounce back on Day 2. The Australian batsman will be aiming to put up a big total for their bowlers to bowl too. Overall, it was an exciting day of Test cricket and fans can look forward to more action in the coming days.  Writer: Ebrahim Yusuf Omar
