West Indies vs Proteas 1st test preview

Tomorrow is the start of the 1st test between West Indies and Proteas at Gros Islet St Lucia Daren Sammy National cricket stadium. Both teams are starting a new era to their cricket history as both have new captains.

There will be a few test caps handed out on both sides ahead of the first test. Conditions have been said to be in favour of seamers so could see both teams go in with 4 seamers.

West Indies could give a debut to Jayden Seals who has played just 1 first-class match and the main reason for his debut is an injury to Gabriel. Also, there will be a return for Shai Hope and Kieran Powell to the team.

West Indies Probable XI: 1. Kraig Brathwaite(C), 2. Kieran Powell, 3 Shai Hope, 4. Kyle Mayers, 5. Jermaine Blackwood, 6. Jason Holder, 7. Joshua da Silva, 8. Rakeem Cornwall, 9. Alzarri Joseph, 10. Kemar Roach, 11, Jayden Seales

Proteas will have Keegan Petersen making his Debut in the middle order and he will take the place left vacant by Faf Du Plessis. With Bavuma struggling with a hip injury Kyle Verreynne could be the second debutant for the Proteas tomorrow. the bowling attack is most likely to be the same 4 seamers and a spinner unless conditions permitting.

Proteas Probable XI: 1. Dean Elgar (C), 2. Aiden Markram, 3. Rassie van der Dussen, 4. Keegan Peterson, 5. Kyle Verreynne, 6. Quinton de Kock, 7. Wiaan Mulder, 8. Keshav Maharaj, 9. Kagiso Rabada, 10. Anrich Nortje, 11. Lungie Ngidi/Tabraiz Shamsi

These were my predictions of how the starting XI could look for tomorrows game. Do share your thoughts in the comment section.

Australia vs Pakistan 3rd test day 3 review

The third day of the third Test match between Australia and Pakistan was exciting, with both teams battling it out on the field. Australia resumed on 116-2 with Labuschange and Smith continuing to score steadily and take Australia closer to Pakistan's first innings score of 313. Labuschange and Smith added 71 runs before both Smith and Labuschange lost their wickets one after the other. Australia then managed a few small partnerships to take their score to 289 before collapsing to 299 all out giving Pakistan a first-innings lead of 14 runs.  Pakistan began their 2nd innings in the worst way possible by losing 2 quick wickets in opener Abdulla Shafiq and Captain Shan Masood both for ducks. Saim Ayub and Babar Azam then gave Pakistan some hope with a partnership of 57 before Pakistan's batting collapsed from 58-2 to 68-7 to end the day staring at defeat and missing another chance to win their 1st test in 28 years. Pakistan last won a test match in Australia in 1995...

SA20 review

The SA20 season 2 has ended with Sunrisers Eastern Cape successfully defending their title to win back-to-back titles. The Sunrisers were the team to beat as they played an excellent brand of cricket and dominated throughout the tournament winning 7 matches and losing 2 with 1 no result to top the table in the league stage.  The final of SA20 season 2 was played by the 2 best teams of the tournament the Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Durban Super Giants. Sunrisers proved too good for Super Giants beating them by 89 runs to not only successfully defend their SA20 title but also win the head-to-head between the 2 teams 3-1.  SA20 season 2 saw some unbelievable performances with quite a few young South African players taking the opportunity and shining. The young standout SA batsman were:  Rickelton 530 runs ave 58.88, strike-rate 173.77 Breetzke 416 runs ave 32, strike-rate 135.50  Stubbs 301 runs ave 60.20, strike-rate, 168.15   Mulder 297 runs...
