New Zealand edge ahead on day 2

Day 2 of the 2nd test went to New Zealand as they took the edge after bowling England out they put in a good batting performance and also look set to take the lead tomorrow if they continue to bat with the positive approach they up until now.

England were bowled out for 303 earlier in the day and then New Zealand batted out the rest of the day to end on 229/3. At this point in the match, I feel New Zealand are a bit in front as they look to go for the win. England on the other hand are looking like they are just continuing from where they left off in the last match and trying to secure another draw. They r inexperienced and missing a few key players and I don't think they've got their combinations quite right in this series.

This morning England resumed on 258/7 with Lawrence on 67 and Wood on 16. The Day started well for England as they got to 288 without losing a wicket before they lose 3 for 15 runs to end their innings.

They lost the wickets of Wood for 41 of 80 he was bowled by Henry and Stuart Broad was out for 0 of 4 he was caught Blundell bowled Boult and the last wicket of the innings to fall was Anderson for 4 of 16 he was LBW to Boult. Lawrence remained unbeaten on 81 of 124 at the end.

New Zealand then came out and batted for 14 overs scoring 43 runs for the loss of 1 wicket. They lost the wicket of Latham for 6 of 16 he was out LBW to Broad. Conway and Young then saw them to lunch safely.

During the Afternoon session, New Zealand added 87 runs without losing a wicket and went to Tea on 130/1 as they continued to chip away at the deficit set by England. England seemed to be missing a quality spinner who would use the conditions to great effect and gets some wickets for them in the middle overs when the ball is doing anything for the seamers.

In the evening session, New Zealand added a further 99 runs for the loss of 2 wickets as they reduced the deficit to 74 runs. They lost the wickets of Conway for 80 of 143 he was caught Crawley bowled Broad and then of the last ball of the Day they lost Young for 82 of 204 he was caught Pope bowled Lawrence.

The final scorecard looked like this

England 303 101 overs

D.Lawrence 81 (124)                                              T. Boult 4-85 (29)

M. Wood (80)                                                          A. Patel  2-34 (14)

New Zealand 229/3

W. Young 82 (204)                                                   S. Broad 2-22 (15)

D. Conway 80 (143)                                                 D. Lawrence 1-8(1.3)

R. Taylor 46* (97)

New Zealand trail by 74 runs

Proteas vs India 2nd test Day 1 review

The second test match between Proteas and India kicked off on a high note with the hosts putting up a horrendous batting performance on day 1. The Proteas team won the toss and elected to bat first, but they failed to make the most of the opportunity as the Indian bowlers wreaked havoc on the home team's batting line-up bowling them out for 55. Mohammed Siraj was the chief destroyer with 6 wickets for 15 runs in 9 overs. He was equally supported by Mukesh and Bumrah both taking 2 wickets each.  The Indian team lost their first wicket early on, with Jaiswal departing for a duck. The rest of the top-order batsmen struggled to get going as well, and the team was bowled out for 153. However, a brilliant counter-attacking innings from Markram helped the home team to 62-3 at stumps to steady the ship.  It was an excellent day for bowlers on both sides as 23 wickets fell for 270 runs.  The Proteas bowlers, led by Rabada and Lungi Ngidi, were impressive after t...

Australia vs Pakistan 3rd test day 3 review

The third day of the third Test match between Australia and Pakistan was exciting, with both teams battling it out on the field. Australia resumed on 116-2 with Labuschange and Smith continuing to score steadily and take Australia closer to Pakistan's first innings score of 313. Labuschange and Smith added 71 runs before both Smith and Labuschange lost their wickets one after the other. Australia then managed a few small partnerships to take their score to 289 before collapsing to 299 all out giving Pakistan a first-innings lead of 14 runs.  Pakistan began their 2nd innings in the worst way possible by losing 2 quick wickets in opener Abdulla Shafiq and Captain Shan Masood both for ducks. Saim Ayub and Babar Azam then gave Pakistan some hope with a partnership of 57 before Pakistan's batting collapsed from 58-2 to 68-7 to end the day staring at defeat and missing another chance to win their 1st test in 28 years. Pakistan last won a test match in Australia in 1995...
