SA20 match 12 preview

SA20 has another doubleheader today and the first doubleheader is MI Cape Town vs Sunrisers Eastern Cape at Newlands cricket stadium Cape Town.  This is the return from 2 days ago when the 2 teams played in Gqeberha.

The pitch at Newlands has been on the slower side so far in the 3 games played at Newlands. I'm hoping today's game the pitch will play much better and have something in it for the batsman as it's been tough for them so far batting at Newlands.

I think a score of 170 to 180 will be a good score on this pitch. Today fans will finally get to see Rabada and Archer playing together for the first time.

The news from the toss is Sunrisers have won the toss and chose to bowl first.

SA20 review

By
The SA20 season 2 has ended with Sunrisers Eastern Cape successfully defending their title to win back-to-back titles. The Sunrisers were the team to beat as they played an excellent brand of cricket and dominated throughout the tournament winning 7 matches and losing 2 with 1 no result to top the table in the league stage.  The final of SA20 season 2 was played by the 2 best teams of the tournament the Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Durban Super Giants. Sunrisers proved too good for Super Giants beating them by 89 runs to not only successfully defend their SA20 title but also win the head-to-head between the 2 teams 3-1.  SA20 season 2 saw some unbelievable performances with quite a few young South African players taking the opportunity and shining. The young standout SA batsman were:  Rickelton 530 runs ave 58.88, strike-rate 173.77 Breetzke 416 runs ave 32, strike-rate 135.50  Stubbs 301 runs ave 60.20, strike-rate, 168.15   Mulder 297 runs...

Proteas vs England 3rd ODI

By
The ODI series between Proteas and England ended with a 2-1 win for the Proteas. The series has been competitive and entertaining.  Proteas won the toss and chose to bowl. They started off well but then Buttler and Malan put together a partnership of 232 off 211. This partnership brought England right back into the match as they recovered from 14 for 3 to post 346-7 in their 50 overs.  In reply, the Proteas were always ahead of the scoring rate, the only problem was they lost wickets at regular intervals, which is why they ended up being bowled out for 287. Archer was the star picking up 6-40 of 9.1 overs. England won the match by 59 runs. The Proteas can take a lot of positives from this series as they have given themselves a good chance to gain the last direct qualification spot.  Writer : Ebrahim Yusuf Omar
