SA20 match 12 review

The Sunrisers have managed to win back-to-back matches against MI Cape Town after they lost their first 2 matches of the SA20. MI Cape Town will be disappointed with their performance as they lost the opportunity to go 5 points clear at the top of the table.

The hero of the day for the Sunrisers was Marco Jansen who scored 66 off 27 that included 3 4s and 7 6s at a strike rate of 244.44. Jansen was excellent coming in with the score on 91-5 after 12.1 overs it looked like the Sunrisers were going to lose this match, but he changed it in no time smashing the MI bowling attack that was made up by Rashid Khan, Rabada, Archer and Sam Curran. Rashid was the one to receive the most damage as Jansen smashed 28 runs of his 4th over, the 16th over of the innings which swung the game in the Sunrisers' way. He then took on Rabada and of the last ball of the 17th over he played a shot similar to what Kohli hit against Haris Rauf during India vs Pakistan match in the T20 world cup.

Roelof Van der Merwe was the star with the ball and in the field taking 2 catches 1 of his own bowling and also finishing with figures of 2-21 in 4 overs.

MI Cape Town will take positive from the performance of Roelofsen 56 of 36 7 4s and 2 6s at a Strike rate of 155.55, Rickelton 46 of 36 4 4s and 1 six at a strike rate of 127.77, Delano Potgieter 21 of 13 with 1 four and 2 6s at a strike rate of 161.53 and Oden Smith 25 of 13 with 3 4s and 1 six at a strike rate of 192.30. The 4 were excellent with the bat for MI Cape Town and gave them a score that looked like a winning one for most of the chase.

Archer was excellent for MI Cape Town with the ball as he was the only one who wasn't hit finishing with 1-18 of his 4 overs.

The match was very entertaining as both teams gave their best with the Sunrisers coming out on top thanks to an excellent inning from Jansen.

SA20 review

The SA20 season 2 has ended with Sunrisers Eastern Cape successfully defending their title to win back-to-back titles. The Sunrisers were the team to beat as they played an excellent brand of cricket and dominated throughout the tournament winning 7 matches and losing 2 with 1 no result to top the table in the league stage.  The final of SA20 season 2 was played by the 2 best teams of the tournament the Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Durban Super Giants. Sunrisers proved too good for Super Giants beating them by 89 runs to not only successfully defend their SA20 title but also win the head-to-head between the 2 teams 3-1.  SA20 season 2 saw some unbelievable performances with quite a few young South African players taking the opportunity and shining. The young standout SA batsman were:  Rickelton 530 runs ave 58.88, strike-rate 173.77 Breetzke 416 runs ave 32, strike-rate 135.50  Stubbs 301 runs ave 60.20, strike-rate, 168.15   Mulder 297 runs...

Australia vs Pakistan 3rd test day 3 review

The third day of the third Test match between Australia and Pakistan was exciting, with both teams battling it out on the field. Australia resumed on 116-2 with Labuschange and Smith continuing to score steadily and take Australia closer to Pakistan's first innings score of 313. Labuschange and Smith added 71 runs before both Smith and Labuschange lost their wickets one after the other. Australia then managed a few small partnerships to take their score to 289 before collapsing to 299 all out giving Pakistan a first-innings lead of 14 runs.  Pakistan began their 2nd innings in the worst way possible by losing 2 quick wickets in opener Abdulla Shafiq and Captain Shan Masood both for ducks. Saim Ayub and Babar Azam then gave Pakistan some hope with a partnership of 57 before Pakistan's batting collapsed from 58-2 to 68-7 to end the day staring at defeat and missing another chance to win their 1st test in 28 years. Pakistan last won a test match in Australia in 1995...
